The Rev. Jacki BelileThat’s the name of a precious hymn loved by many, and the one with which we end each business meeting. It brings to mind our extended community across space and time; it brings to mind our desire to be made into a vibrant community of deepening ties here in this place and time. In fact, the root meaning of “religion” is “that which ties or holds together.” (While “organized religion” can be rightfully critiqued for its excesses, for me it mostly means that humble committed people say yes to show up together on purpose to grow in the wisest ways together:)) Co-creation!

This is my prayer: As we savor and debrief Summer Camp in coming days, as we relish a meaningful business meeting and lean into some additional “business” tasks this summer (like a new Rec Room floor and bookkeeping software!), may we do so with rhythms of service and rest in mind. Enjoy your families and friends. Spend time alone. Play. Work with an intentional mantra that honors the Divine working through you. Relish God’s presence with familiar or new spiritual practices.

I do hope you’ll join us weekly for the touching depths of worship in our beautiful sacred space. You’ll note that more time for prayer is on my mind, and so we’ll be experimenting with a sanctuary-zoomed midday prayer at 12pm every Tuesday beginning July 2.

May all our ties strengthen, not bind us. And, be BLESSED!

In Christ’s Peace,
Pastor Jacki
