The Rev. Jacki BelileI come to this mantra and ponder for hours at a time frequently. It’s  a lovely morsel of devotion and faith I caught from Dorothy Dahmer (Daryl’s mom, Fritzi’s sister) in the spring of 2017.  In her last weeks with us I heard her say it so often.  It perfect captures what I believe is ALWAYS true even when I am tempted to forget. Or do forget. Or act like I forgot.

It perfectly captures what I believe about why we’re here- to experience and share blessings. To do our part in encouraging, helping, strengthening others… and to be honest about how much we too — all of us — need blessings.

What does that mean to you in this season?  Think and share about this, please!  Our worship this week, which includes the baptism of Edythe Beal, has inspired me to this theme and scriptures which may influence us.

In other news, I want to thank those who created the conversation we had with the first dialogue about current events last Tuesday. Six of us inaugurated this, and we will be hosting this next on October 22 (6:30pm food, 7-8pm dialogue). All welcome. Blessing one another is another way to see what we did  –listening, sharing, acknowledging the struggles we have about our differences.   We’ll be practicing dialogue on October 22 on the theme of immigration. Please consider joining us. (Zoom us available if you’d like).

Blessings!
