It’s been a rich week. The service last week was so heartwarming; special thanks again to Padraig, and Sarah for the collaboration for All Saints. The week unfolded with two collaborative outreach events and two dialogue sessions led by David. What I’m feeling today is the rich satisfaction that comes from our setting the table. All kinds of tables. For learning, for fellowship, for worship. For hope in hard times. We look forward to sharing more about these opportunities, and also setting the right tables during our busy Advent time.
We really focus here on the bridges between All Saints and Thanksgiving and Advent. You’ll sense it, and hear more if you haven’t before. We’re so excited about collaborating with partners (Redeemer of Calvary, Third Place Chicago, Mayfair Presbyterian Church) for the first-ever interfaith Thanksgiving Concert and Community Resource Fair next Sunday, Not to be missed! We’ll be offering this by zoom at 3pm. Thanks to Gwynne Carlson of Redeemer for coordinating the reception, Sarah and Eva for hard work on Resource Fair, and Floyd Rueger of Trinity for conducting the Community Chorus. We hope it will be a feast for the soul!
A couple outstanding needs: could one or two people provide a) 3 dozen cupcakes and b) 3 dozen cookies?
We hope you’ll take advantage of tables intended to support and nourish you, even as you take a break in ways you need from activities. It’s my prayer that our Advent offerings will support a deepening time for us all.
In Christ’s Peace,
Pastor Jacki
