Our stories and reflections this month will offer ways to examine this question. What kind of power is Christian in nature? What kind of power is in service of the community Christ would have us build, within and outside of our church walls? We find the theme of boldness and courage very clearly important to the stories of the early church in the Book of Acts. But our power from the Holy Spirit is never mere defiance or differentiation… it is for the sake of conviction that leads to repentance and reconciliation.
Join us for worship this Sunday (onsite or by Zoom) as we spend time in Acts 4 and at the communion table.
SCHEDULE ETC. GOING FORWARD
We’re easing back in to the in-person routines that are optimal and nourishing for the life of this faith community. This summer, these services will be held on-site and by zoom:
June 6
June 27
July 18
July 25
August 1
August 15
September 5
September 12 RALLY DAY
Other summer Sundays will be Zoom only. We anticipate Rally Day to kick off full resumption of weekly on-site worship. We will continue to broadcast by Zoom every week to continue including those unable to be with us in-person.
Our leaders will share more information about on-site protocols and expectations in the coming days. It will be our aim to set a course with well-advised, common sense, respecting and trusting values regarding these expectations. Look for more information next week and a chance to do some Q and A at the business meeting Sunday June 13th.
In Christ’s Peace,
Pastor Jacki
