Rev. Jacki BelileCarla too.  Just when you thought you nailed me as square as heck, living under a rock, etc… Yes, I/we are groupies.  Whenever folksinger Carrie Newcomer is within range, off we go.  Have seen her more than a dozen times, for sure. So many Pre-COVID memories to savor! And to hope for as we all try to adjust to wise new norms that don’t have us under rocks forever, freely and care-fully engaging life.

We’re seeking Carrie’s permission to use this song at the national Ministers Council online gatherings October 29-November 5, for which I am responsible for planning with our friend Jan Rizzo.  As I think about this fragile and IMPORTANT time in our life and world, her heart-felt plea just brings me to tears.   May we all find what we need to tap into God’s strength, vision and heart for these challenging days. This NOW with which God has entrusted us.

This week, I’ll be reflecting on brothers Jacob and Esau from their story in Genesis 25.  The sermon MIGHT BE “The Dangers of Entitlement.”

Peace and love,
Pastor Jacki
