Dear Eden Family,
Our first Eastertide story is the story of the pilgrims on Emmaus Road from Luke 24. Wandering around in grief and fear, they encounter the Lord (unawares). It’s not until he breaks bread with them that they realize his presence, that it is him. Join us Sunday morning for reflection together on this story.
On this unconventional, unscheduled journey we find ourselves on… we may understandably be disoriented, questioning, in great need for companionship and understanding. Wherever we are, he will find us and meet us. I’ve been blessed to feel Christ’s steady comfort as we break bread in new ways. (Also, I had a meltdown after going to the grocery store Wednesday, a humbling reminder of my own sense of vulnerability in this time.) God continues to provide us all with the Holy Spirit, and with the commitment to travel this road together.
I hope you’re doing what you need to find rest and to unplug in ways that are so essential for physical, emotional and spiritual immune systems. Me, I’m taking time off April 20-25, and will be only available in an emergency. (OK… I may drop in for zoom dinner and prayer meetings…) I’ve got a couple books to read, some gardening to do and a TV show awaiting. I think I will also observe a news fast. And just anchor myself in reality bigger than the pandemic. Appreciate your prayers!
Peace and love,
Pastor Jacki
