Rev. Jacki BelileThe lyrics to a wonderful Epiphany hymn say that Christ (and we) are the Light to the World… and after all the sentimental hoopla is over we carry on with embracing his mission in and through us.

I’m reminded of our Fall series on Holiness on Tuesdays, though, and that we’re called into space and lifestyle for deepening relationship with Christ.  It’s not just “about” him, and it’s certainly not just about the WORKS he would invite us to take up.  They are a means to greater intimacy with his heart, and greater Light to be shed on and because of our lives.

So, as always, I hold hope that in all we do and carry we would know its ultimate purpose.  The joy of the journey with him, all of us beloved and worthy children whom he came to bless and save.

Let’s keep this in mind as we gather Sunday for our semi-annual “Brunch Church” and community meeting.  Join us at 10:00 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall around the tables of fellowship and brunch prepared by Dave Chernich and Debbie Miranda.  Our worship over the meal will conclude by 11:00 a.m., and we’ll have a relaxed transition to the “work” of the business meeting.  All welcome!  We’ll be hearing various program reports and approving our Annual Budget.

For the Good News,
Pastor Jacki
